Long before Living Well Group called it home, this corner of Burlington already belonged to community life.
The yellow-brick building at 1200 North Avenue began as a church — a gathering place where neighbors came together in the New North End. Over time, that purpose shifted, and the building became a residence for older adults who needed care and a place to belong.
In 2013, the nonprofit organization Living Well Group purchased Ethan Allen Residence, bringing it into a family of Level III residential care homes rooted in dignity, whole-person care, and everyday community.
Today, these halls are filled with extraordinary lives who call ethan allen residence home. Residents have private rooms, familiar routines, meals shared around the table, and people who know their names and their stories. Just outside the door is Burlington’s New North End — Leddy Park, Malletts Bay, the Bike Path and waterfront, Church Street, and the quiet energy of a city that still feels like home.
The building has changed. Its purpose has grown.
What remains is the same simple promise: a place where people are cared for, known, and truly at home.
